Make A Checklist
About four weeks before moving day is a good time to keep track of moving expenses for tax purposes. This is also when you should begin transferring services and records. It's often a good idea to have the services begin several days before you expect to arrive at your home for the convenience of having the utilities and telephone working upon arrival.
Miscellaneous
- Hold a garage sale to sell unwanted items. This will save you the expense of transporting them.
- Defrost and clean refrigerator I freezer at least two days in advance of move.
- Have curtains and carpets cleaned.
- Drain all gasoline-powered equipment.

On Moving Day
- Make the foreman aware of any items that are fragile or need special handling. All fragile articles should be boldly marked.
- Complete a walk through of your house to ensure that everything has been loaded.
- Confirm that the driver has your exact destination address.
- When the crew has finished unloading, please check that you have all of your items. If you are unsure, please feel free to inspect inside the truck.
